Kuranda Scenic Railway

Today some other students and I went to Kuranda. Kuranda is a small village with about 2000 residents. There are three ways to get to this village. You can either go by car on a road, take the Kuranda Scenic Railway (a train built in the 1950s), or the Skyrail which is a gondola. In the morning at about 9 o'clock we boarded the train and 20 minutes later we were on our way to the village. The train stopped in front of a waterfall for ten minutes in which we were allowed to get off the train and take pictures. After these ten minutes it was only about 15 minutes to the end destination: Kuranda. In the village there were a few things to visit. The location we went to was a park in which you could see crocodiles, koalas an kangaroos. The kangaroos were really adorable. After that we went to the market which is well known in the village. Belts and purses made out of crocodile scales, all kinds of different spices and lots of food were only some of the things you could see in the market. Before heading to the Skyrail we went to Barron River to eat our lunch. The Skyrail took about 10 minutes to get to the Barron River falls. After that it took another 30 minutes to get back to Cairns. In total it was a great day with beautiful experiences to remember.
