Second Day Scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef
Today we went scuba diving at the Norman Reef. In total we had 3 dives today. Two in the morning and one in the afternoon. It was really great we saw turtles, rays and sharks.
First day scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef
Today at the Scuba Diving Course we went out to the Norman Reef on a motorboat. At 8:40 we cast off from the port with prepared fins and scuba diving equipment. We drove for about an an hour and a half before we dropped anchor at Norman Reef - Troppos. The first part of the day we went scuba diving for about an hour and a half before our tanks ran out of air. We did a couple of exercises before we went back. We saw many different types of corals. All of them were so beautiful. We saw black and white tip reef sharks, we found Nemo and Dora, and small rays. It was beautiful. Unfortunately I can't provide underwater footage since we weren't allowed to take our action cameras under water.
Second day at the Scuba Diving Course
Today we went scuba diving in the three meter deep pool at Divers Den. We learned a series of skills for the real scuba diving such as what you have to do when you run out of air, or when you loose your goggles. We also had to learn how to be buoyant under water. The first few breaths under water were pretty weird.
First day at the scuba diving course
Today we only learnt the theoretical part of the course. We went snorkeling for about half an hour in the 3 Meter deep pool at Diver Den in Cairns. We also had a small swimming test which included floating without a floor beneath you and swimming 250 m without stopping. View on the pool from the theory room. In total we were 5 people out of whom 4 were International Students.
