Reef Snorkel Trip 29th of March

Bild
Today I went on a Reef Snorkel Trip at the Moore Reef. We drove there by boat and docked on a pontoon near the reef. This trip was organized by my school and was made out of four different parts. The first part was the actual snorkeling part. The weather gorgeous and you could see lots of different fish, sharks and corals. There is one big fish (about a meter long) that always visits snorkelers. The second part was a safety instruction tour where a guide showed us different safety measures for the pontoon and the boat. The third part was a presentation by marine biologists which work on this pontoon. They informed us about new inventions that help the corals survive. One of them was MARRS, a system that helps new corals grow on old ones (https://www.mars.com/news-and-stories/press-releases/great-barrier-reef-stars-solutions). The fourth and in my opinion most interesting part was a glass-bottom-boat tour where a Aboriginal culture guide showed the connections between Aboriginal people

Today my host-parents took Diego and me to Babinda Creek. We drove about 40 minutes by car to this creek. The water was pretty cold but not salty at all. It was really great.

Palm Cove 11th of March

Today some friends an I went to Palm Cove since it was gorgeous weather all day long. On the second picture you can see a coconut which we found there. It was still a whole coconut so we opened it and inside was fresh coconut water and flesh. You probably won't find this in Austria.

On Saturday some friends an I went swimming in Palm Cove. It is a beach North of Cairns and probably the most beautiful in this region.
